For Chase Natale of Suffern, N.Y. the first 100 days of Trump’s presidency have been some of the most productive with a wide range of executive orders that he considers to be “effective.” From a travel ban, to orders regarding jobs and the economy, Chase is happy with the outcome so far. He voted for Trump and is a loyal supporter. Chase is a conservative Christian who believes in Trump due to his policies, as well as he believes Trump is a man of good spirits, and has a strong backing on religion.

“They have been very eventful, he’s met with many leaders so far from lots of foreign countries, signed many executive orders that will have a big impact on the economy, and impact the work force,” said Chase, whose family supports Trump. “The air-strikes on Syria were effective, and he’s making his mark on foreign affairs…proving the United States will not back down from countries doing things that are inhuman including the chemical attack.”

Donald J. Trump was elected as the 45th President of the United States in 2016 as he defeated Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in one of the most contentious elections in our nation’s history. Trump relied on many different voters, but what put him over the top were families such as the Natale’s.

Trump won due to a big turnout from hardcore conservative supporters, such as the Natale’s, who backed him despite his controversial stance on certain issues such as global warming, terrorists, border security, and other hot button issues. However, they really felt strong that he was a man of the lord. Aside from the religious standpoint of it, they also liked all his polices. Jobs, and the economy were big to them and they think he will be able to finally defeat ISIS once and for all.

It wasn’t just Trump’s policies that made him the Natale family’s candidate, but religion, values and way of life. Their dad, John, 51, is a pastor, police chaplain for Suffern, N.Y. and Prophet at John Natale Ministries. He has raised his six boys, alongside his wife of 30 years, Nancy, 53, with a big backing on the religion of Christianity. C.J, 25, is the oldest, followed by Ryan, 23, Chase, 21,  Noah, 17, Luke, 10,  and the youngest, Jacob, 6.

“Raising six boys has been an amazing blessing. Watching them grow and display all of their unique personalities has been a joy,” said John. “They have a strong relationship with God that has been established overtime. Their relationships as brothers has been key to their strength and commradery.”

Christians were a huge part of the reason Trump won, especially among white males. Trump got 81 percent of the vote from white evangelicals, compared to Clinton who only received 16 percent from these voters. Religion is a huge factor in every election, dating back to the 2000 election between George Bush, and Al Gore you can see the breakdown of voters at PewResearchCenter.

Church every Sunday, bible study, community work, even having three of his kids play in a band that performs Christian music at church, and at home. These routines are important for John and his family.

Religion has played a significant role in John’s life in many ways, and his family’s life as well. John thinks “honor,” “respect,” “helping others,” “unconditional love,” “having a good heart,” are the key factors that helped make John the leader he is today.

“Seeing and helping people of all ages be the best that they can be through inspiration, and engorgement is important,” said John. Who also believes it’s important to accept others equally without conditions.

John‘s video supporting Trump actually went viral this year when some of his Facebook posts and his YouTube videos were picked up and spread throughout the internet. He had dreams in 2015 that Donald J. Trump would be the next president of the United States, and it took off.

(In this video John talks about social media, and faith.)

The video and article wracked up hundreds of thousands of views. Some people thought this prophecy was amazing and something out of the movie. Others believed it to be what John calls “quaky,” and “fake.”

Aisha Bascom wrote an article discussing John’s faith, and how he was able to see the future of a Trump presidency.

The impact of white Christians on the election was huge, according to The Washington Post Trump was favored by white evangelical voters by a 80-16 percent margin. The white evangelical voters make up a whooping 1/5 of all voters, so Trump being able to grab almost 20 percent of all the voters off the bat could be the biggest difference in why Trump won the election.

In the swing-state of FL. Trump received 85 percent of all white evangelical voters. Another problem for Clinton wasn’t just that 16 percent would have voted for her at the time but it was that 70 percent had an unfavorable view of her. Also 55 percent of voters nation-wide at the time felt the same, Trump was not far off though, making the white evangelical blowout so important.

From Father to Sons

Ryan, his second oldest son is the biggest Trump supporter in the family and even traveled to Hershey, Penn. to attend one of Trump’s rallies. Ryan has backed Trump since day one due to his policies and his “not so political way” he goes about himself. Ryan loves that he’s not politically correct and says it how it is, even if it upsets some. Ryan rocks a Trump and InfoWars sticker on his Ram, and loves to wear his blue Trump sweatshirt.

“It was unreal, it was just a cool experience, I have never experienced anything like that before,” said Ryan. “The atmosphere in the stadium was awesome, 20,000 people cheering for the same thing was a surreal moment.”

Ryan who loves playing and making music, usually plays in the church worship band once a month, and even played at the IZOD Center for a National Church Conference.

“Being a very spiritual person, and loving music, makes it easy to put those two things together,” said Ryan. “It’s not out of duty, or an obligation to me, it’s just an important part of my life.”

Chase is one of John’s middle sons. Just like older brother Ryan, Chase attended the rally and feels Trump is the right candidate. Not being a career politician, and having similar views on policies such as abortion, illegal immigrants, and making the military strong again is what made Chase vote for him.

He rocks his “MAGA” hat and isn’t scared to speak his mind to non-Trump believers. Religion was always on the mind of Chase when it came time to vote in 2016. “He relates a lot of his quotes to God, said Chase. “Every time he speaks he seems to bring up a reference to God as compared to Clinton who never did.”

Chase loved growing up in a religious home and believed it was great to have that kind of childhood. “Growing up in a religious household set up the the spiritual and mental foundation for the rest of my life,” said Chase. “Since my dad has been a minister when I was little I have always loved going to different churches, and seeing how humble people truly are and how they celebrate their religion.”

First 100 Days

Being so close to the first 100 days in office both Natale brothers were happy with what has been done so far. They both agreed that the travel ban was a a good thing, and so were other orders including ones helping the economy. Both do want to see a wall built on our southern border, and want a change in healthcare. They think Obamacare is a disaster, and must be replaced.

“First and foremost this was my favorite action he’s taken so far due to the fact that the previous administration seemed okay with allowing anyone to come into our country without knowing who they are, or where they came from,” said Ryan discussing the travel ban. “This order reversed that, and put the right implementations in place, thus putting our country first.”

Ryan also thinks it’s important to keep jobs here in the United States, this is why he was a huge supporter of “Buy American, Hire American,” which was an executive order that defends American jobs, workers, and interests. “It’s beneficial for our economy when our country is put on the forefront of jobs being created here, and staying here, said Ryan. “This topic was not spoken of from the Democratic party.”

Regarding policies not yet implemented, Chase thinks health care is the big one. “We need a good health care bill that isn’t hard to afford, we need a bill that will work for everyone” said Chase. “Obamacare is failing.”

Chase discusses Trump’s first 100 days in office below.

Fake News & The Media

Trump has been pressed to release his tax return but has continuously said he’s under audit and will do so in the future. The only bit seen was when MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow released his 2005 tax return but it showed Trump payed a bigger tax rate than Barack Obama, and Bernie Sanders. It seemed to good to be true and some believe Trump, or someone working for him leaked his return hoping the call for his tax returns would die down, but it has not.

It’s also said that Trump has ties to Russia and he should step down due to the accusations. People believe the hacking that went on during the elections was from the Russians, and they were in it with Trump so he would win the election. Politico even made charts that show Trump, family members, and other’s he’s affiliated with and how they’re connected to Russia, and Putin. There was a lot of controversy that went on even after the election was over, and continues to this day.

Chase, and Ryan both think that the election is over and no one needs to see his tax returns. They think the 2005 tax return was enough and even showed that he paid more taxes than a lot of other people. In regards to Russia, they believe that he has done business with Russia but has no political ties with them. They don’t think he was involved in any of the hacking they were caught doing, and that he won the election fairly.

“The media is very falsifying,” said Chase. “Every time I turn on a specific news channel, like MSNBC, or CNN, I see panelists negatively talking about the president…they never seek out anything he has done positively.”

Chase watches shows like Tucker Carlson, and Hannity to get his news. He tries to avoid a lot of other networks he considers to be “fake news,” which he sees a lot from on Facebook, and on other internet sites. “They do a good job making fake news look real on these kind of sites.”

Ryan trusts about “5 percent” of the news networks out there, relying on Fox News, InfoWars, One America News Network, and a few other news outlets, which he considers to be “reliable news.”

“From the beginning of the 2016 presidential campaign the main stream media such as the New York Times, Washington Post, and CNN made it obvious they were biased towards Trump,” said Ryan. “They made it clear they were pro-Clinton…even up until now they’re more focused on a past irrelevant Trump stories that have nothing to do with what’s going on now. They have no positive outlook on the presidency whether he does something good, or bad.”

Ryan discusses fake news and the example of the NYT vs. New England Patriots below.

What the Future Holds

100 days will come, and go by quick. There will still be over three and a half years left in Trump’s presidency with a lot of promises left on the agenda to fulfill. For Chase it’s important that Trump stays strong on eliminating ISIS, and figures out a good affordable substitute for Obamacare. He has been happy with the first 100 days and think’s he’s been able to accomplish more in the first 100 days than he originally even thought.

Asides from healthcare, and the extinction of ISIS, Chase is hoping that the wall is built on our southern border. This is one of the many important issues to Chase because it’s more than just keeping America safe, but also has an impact on the economy. “Drugs, illegal immigrants, and crime will be kept out of our nation,” said Chase. “it’s important to protect our borders and keep America safe.”

  1. I thought that the different types of media you put into the article really helped add value to it, and gave people a variety of ways to experience everything. Talking to people outside the family could help due to the subject, though it worked perfectly fine focusing on one family regardless.
