iphone Review: Old To New

By NICHOLAS OSPINA

Remembering the original iPhone 2g first released on June 29, 2007.  The popular demand for an iPhone was high, with internet, a camera, and a phone all built into one device. The iPhone revolutionized the lives of millennials.

Approaching the 10 year anniversary since the release of the first iPhone the evolution has been astonishing. One of the most popular features is  how precise its camera captures a photo. But we forget how terrible the camera was with the first iPhone.

Comparison of the Cameras

Comparing the cameras between the iPhone 2g and the latest iPhone 7plus there is no competition.

Opening the camera on the 2g was unbelievably slow, and once the photo was taken, it’s as if you had taken a picture of trash. Barley visible, not really sure what is being shown/captured in a 2g photo.

By contrast, the photos taken on the 7plus  are precise and clear.

The 2g also did not have video and a front camera so selfies with the front camera hadn’t existed yet. The always helpful “Siri” wasn’t even in existence yet.

James Bareham, writer for The Verge, wrote “The iPhone 7Plus vs. the original iPhone:a camera showdown” where he took a test taking photos with both cameras describing the differences.

What’s most fascinating about this article, displays the exact same photos taken with both the 2g and 7plus. The difference between the photos speaks for itself.

Niley Patel, writer for The Verge, wrote “iPhone 7 Review” “The iPhone 7 represents another upgrade over the iPhone 6S: there’s a new, faster f/1.8, the addition of optical image stabilization, a new four-color True Tone flash, and wide color capture.”

As a consumer looking towards the iPhone 7/7plus the battery life will be much improved. The phone as well will be water resistant which will be beneficial for a lot of people. Also as already stated the camera is much improved.

  1. The article is informative & interesting, but maybe from a consumer point of view I’d want to know even a little more about the new features of the iphone 7.
